Advent Practice on December 12On Sunday, December 12, members are invited to enjoy coffee, tea and cake following our regular class in Charlottenburg.
School gyms in Berlin closed for fall vacation
During the week of fall vacation from October 18 to 24, the following practice sessions will be canceled: Tuesday in Siemensstadt, Thursday in Wedding, Saturday and Sunday in Charlottenburg. (Central practice on Saturday in Spandau will be held as usual.)
New class in Perleberg
Our club in Perleberg now offers a second practice session—see the schedule for details.
Charlottenburg gym closed October 3
In observance of the German national holiday, the school gym on Gervinusstraße is closed on Sunday, October 3. (Practice on Saturday, October 2, will take place as usual.)
AVBB Board addresses online
A new page lists the names and addresses of our board members.
Tuesday class earlier
As of September 21, the SC Siemensstadt's Tuesday class in the Jugendweg gym will begin at 7:45 p.m. and end at 9:30 p.m..
School gyms closed for summer vacation
During summer vacation (from July 15 to August 29), practice in Berlin will only be held in the Prinzenallee location. Our regular practice schedule resumes on Monday, August 30.
New AVBB member
We're pleased to announce that the first club from the State of Brandenburg has joined our organization: the Aikido Section of SV Blau-Weiß Perleberg. Their practice session has been added to our class schedule. Contact info is included on our list of member clubs.
Gym closings in May
- On Ascension Day (Thursday, May 13) both classes are canceled.
- The Heckerdamm gym is also closed on the following Thursday (May 20) due to renovation work.
- Practice in the Charlottenburg gym is canceled on Whit Sunday (May 23).
- Practice in the Spandau gym is canceled on Whit Monday (May 24).
Invitations to our seminars are now available online via our calendar.
New navigational assistance
All our pages now include an additional navigation tool: at the bottom of each page, a row shows the current position in the page hierarchy.
Our organization is growing
We have decided to open our organization to clubs from the State of Brandenburg and have altered our name accordingly. We'll share the news of our new members online as soon as it's appropriate.
Charlottenburg gym still closed for construction
The gym on Gervinusstraße will remain closed on the weekend of April 24-25 due to delays in the plumbing work. Since the following Saturday is Labor Day (May 1), our regular practice schedule will not resume until Sunday, May 2 1999.
School gyms closed for Easter vacation
All classes held in school gyms are canceled from April 1 through April 18. Our regular practice schedule resumes Monday, April 19.

After a long incubation period, our first website finally sees the light of day.
